Spotlight on SONGZIO, the Korean Fashion House
Share

Songzio is one of South Korea’s most exciting designer labels, where fashion becomes art.
Known for its striking silhouettes, dark tones, and artistic edge, SONGZIO blends high-end tailoring with a truly unique creative vision. Founded in 1993, the brand has grown to include 5 different fashion lines, has showcased its collections at Paris Fashion Week, and is loved by global celebrities and K-pop stars alike. Every collection starts as a painting as founder Zio Song is an artist first. If you’re looking to stand out with pieces that tell a story, SONGZIO is your chance to wear bold, wearable art — now available at Le Boxfit.
Zio Song — From Artist to Designer
Before he made clothes, Zio Song made paintings. A true artist at heart, he brings a painter’s eye to every design, often starting his collections with a brush and canvas. This artistic foundation gives SONGZIO its signature mood : expressive, emotional, and bold. Unlike many brands that rely on mood boards or trend reports, Zio Song still begins each collection with a hand-painted canvas, often displayed during the runway shows themselves. Each brushstroke becomes a building block for the silhouettes, textures, and emotions of the season.

A Brand Born in Seoul, Seen in Paris
SONGZIO ’s story began in the vibrant streets of Seoul in the early 1990s, when South Korea’s fashion scene was just beginning to find its modern identity. At a time when local designers were still heavily influenced by Western trends, Zio Song dared to do something different. He infused art into fashion, emotion into tailoring, and a unique Korean sensibility into global style.
While many brands focused on trends, SONGZIO focused on expression. Zio Song’s background in fine arts gave his collections a bold, almost theatrical quality. His early designs stood out for their use of deep black tones, layered textures, and genderless silhouettes. It created a visual language that felt fresh, mysterious, and deeply intentional.
That vision soon crossed borders. In 2006, SONGZIO made its debut at Paris Fashion Week, becoming one of the first Korean menswear designers to show in the French capital. The collection received praise for its originality, and year after year, SONGZIO returned, a reputation for blending Eastern minimalism with European sophistication. It wasn’t just a brand anymore; it was a cultural bridge, introducing the world to a new era of Korean fashion.

To conclude, a word from Giorgia, the stylist behind Le Boxfit, who found a Songzio gem along her fashion adventures.
"It was during my first ever Paris Fashion Week. It was also my first week at my first internship in Paris. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. A Korean colleague gave me an address, a time, and the name of the person I had to meet. Still, I had no idea what I was going to do. I took my hints with me and went there — a small rue in the Marais. The street number corresponded to a glass door. It looked like a shop selling only black clothes. I waited a few moments outside to see if anyone would show up. Then I went in. Two cool Korean guys dressed in black greeted me. My blind date, who turned out to be my client, was already inside. It was Songzio ’s showroom. The cool guys were presenting the brand to Matt. I still had no idea what my purpose was in that situation, but I was enjoying it. The meeting didn’t last long at all. They said they would stay in touch. They gifted us two tops as a thank you. And voilà — your Songzio top."
